The stems are a little tough and I have trouble with straw building up on the drop down plate going to the vittoe chaff spreader. After it builds up enough a wad will fall down making little piles all over the field. Also it will build up between the steering arm and tire dropping piles there too.
I have an R60, fitted with the factory chaff spreader fins on the hinged panel above the shoe. We also no-till so need to get the chaff spread as evenly as possible. The original fins spreads ok to about 15 or 18 feet providing the wind is at 6 or 7. We have now fitted a Kirby as well. Chaff is now spread over most of the 30 foot width of cut.
