I think most people have went with the barley crusher because of ease of use and price, but if they are the same price the crank looks more robust and has bigger rollers. Nice to see the barley crusher getting some price comparable competition.
I just received a Barley Crusher mill - is the default roller setting sufficient for most grain types, or do I need to worry about adjusting it? Do you guys change roller spacing based on what grain you mill (i.e. barley vs wheat) or just keep it the same and crush away? mill grain all-grain crush.

Mar 04, 2014· Thanks for the kind words sjverla. I will testify yet again that the Monster Mill is a BEAST, especially in comparison to the Barley Crusher. Performance and quality surpass it 10x over. Plus the Barley Crushers have a design flaw that results in them all eventually wearing out.

I can't imagine there is a large difference in crush speed between the 2/3 roller mills homebrewers generally use (cereal killer, barley crusher, captian crush, monster mill, etc). Of course not many homebrewers brew to fill 55 gallon barrels, so you may need something more powerful.
