200 mL solution of acid mine drainage (AMD) sample was collected from Krugerdorp gold mine in South Africa. The samples were poured into five 500 mL glass beakers, and varying volumes of 0.043 M of FeCl 3, Al 2 (SO 4) 3, Na 2 CO 3, and 2.0 g of bentonite clay were added respectively.The samples settled for 1 h, after which the pH and turbidity were measured.
