The old round ram M-head Bridgeports are the shortest mills that Bridgeport ever made. This one had a 32-inch table (the smallest Bridgeport ever produced) and a 9-inch knee instead of the now more common 12-inch knee. The Bridgeport came with a home-brew 1->3 phase rotary converter. May 19, 2019· I wouldn't bother to look at one with a taper. R8 isn't perfect, but tapers can be annoying and they are limited in size. If it had an R8 spindle and I wanted it, I'd offer about $1,000. That's really all the money for a round ram, IMHO. Bridgeport milling machine for sale in perfect conditions.

Finally found a J head for $2500 with prisntine ways and a chewed up table but its flat. Unless a bridgeport physically cant fit in your garage or shed I would stay away from smaller lighter machines.

The DRO is mounted on it and swivels allowing me to position it wherever it is most convenient for the operation being performed.
